Commissioner Mark Brant pleaded guilty in the US District Court in the Northern District of Ohio to one count of Maintaining a Drug-Involved Premises on March 20.

Court documents show Merner intends to plead guilty to one count of wrongful voting and one count of theft by deception. He would be given sentences that would be suspended for two years and would agree to pay restitution of $1,100.

Merner was indicted by a grand jury in February.

The charges of felony wrongful voting, unsworn falsification and tampering with government records or information would be dismissed if the guilty plea is entered, under the agreement.

On August 8th, 2024, Holmberg pleaded guilty to child sex tourism in return for the child pornography charges being dropped. He also agreed to register as a sex offender and to waive his right to appeal against the conviction.

Former Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel pleaded guilty to 27 of 31 felony charges in court on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024 in a massive corruption case that could land him in prison for more than a decade.

Noel, a prominent Hoosier Republican, was charged with more than two dozen felonies for allegedly misusing money from the fire and EMS departments which he oversaw.

Former state senator and gubernatorial candidate William "Sam" McCann put an end to his federal trial on wire fraud, money laundering and tax evasion, pleading guilty to all nine counts.

According to court documents, Joshua Smith, 45, secretly and unlawfully funneled $67,000 of what is commonly referred to as “soft money” from Kelsey’s Tennessee State Senate campaign committee to a national political organization that funded advertisements urging voters to support Kelsey in the August 2016 primary election.

Smith pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting the solicitation, receipt, direction, transfer, and spending of soft money in connection with a federal election.
