Carolina Amesty indicted on four felony charges

Florida state GOP Rep. Carolina Amesty was booked into the Orange County jail on August 29, 2024, on felony forgery charges.

Amesty has represented parts of Orange and Osceola counties in the Florida House of Representatives since November 2022. According to the Orange County government website, the 29-year-old Republican faces four charges: forgery, uttering forgery, notarizing her own signature, and false acknowledgement by notary public.

Evidence was presented to a grand jury, which found sufficient evidence to return an indictment.

Councilwoman Abby Lundy charged with larceny and forgery

Abby Lundy, a Republican councilwoman in New Jersey, was arrested in Connecticut on August 22, 2024, for crimes allegedly committed on July 9, in connection with an embezzlement scheme involving a nonprofit children's organization.

Lundy turned herself in to police in New Canaan, Connecticut. She has been charged with larceny and forgery.

Lundy resigned after her arrest. She had served as a Republican borough councilwoman since she was first elected in 2016.
