On September 13, 2023, a jury found Defendant Ryan Zink guilty of three counts arising from his conduct at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021: Obstruction of an Official Proceeding, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1512(c) (Count I); Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1752(a)(1) (Count II); and Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1752(a)(2) (Count III).

A convicted John Raymond, a well-known Louisiana Republican pastor, on charges of cruelty to juveniles stemming from his disciplining students at the school he founded.

Raymond faced three felony charges of cruelty to juveniles for taping students’ mouths shut at the Christian school he founded in Slidell, Lakeside Christian Academy. He also faced a second-degree child cruelty charge for placing his hand over the mouth of a 4-year-old student until that child “went limp,” a witness testified at trial.
